On November 15, 2006, Windows Live OneCare notified me there were updates
available. The updates or security patches were downloaded and installed.
After that I am stilling gettting these message: Warning: Windows Live
OneCare Antivirus is turned off; Warning: Windows Live OneCare Antivirus is
turned off and Windows Live OneCare Firewall is turned off. I've tried
unsuccessfully to get them turned on.

When I click on "Help Center" in OneCare's window, it takes me to the
OneCare website. I sign in but none of the links work.

I called Microsoft, OneCare technical support and was on hold for 30 minutes
and was not able to talk with a support person because I couldn't hold any
longer. Then I found an old email where OneCare had provided support back in
June. I sent them an emal and was informed that I needed to go to the support
website. I told them I did go to the website but none of the links worked.

I guess that's the end of the support Microsoft will provide.

I did run HiJack This and the last line reads: O23 - Service: MSMPSVC -
    Unknown owner - C:\Program Files\Microsoft Windows OneCare
    Live\Antivirus\MSMPSVC.exe" -n 4 (file missing)

How can I find that file and I will it fix the problem with Windows Live
    OneCare?

I hope someone will help me!

    Thanks in advance,

    | Thanks in advance,

    Just remove the software.

There are *much* better anti virus online "On Demand" anti virus scanners out there.
Microsoft's offering is one of the worst !

    Hello, Kay.
The forums for OneCare can be found here:
    http://forums.microsoft.com/windowsonecare/default.aspx?siteid=2

Support for 1.1 can be reached here without validation (after clicking on open
an email support case, select "other computer" if you are presented with a
    request for a product ID):

Go to safety.live.com, for Microsoft's online scan tool to see if it locates
a worm that is know to create this issue.
