Today when I logged into my windows 7 PC at work all was normal. When I
logged into my XP PC, it told me I needed to change my password and had n
days to do it. I'm worried about deploying Windows 7 if it is not going to
tell me when I need to change my password for the domain. The domain is a
2003 domain and is the only domain in the tree.

Both are in the same domain. We only have one domain. It is 2003 R2 SP2.
Some updates have been applied. It is time to update again.

    Yes, I'm a bit batty.

Actually, I was trying to reply to both people's questions, since they were
the same. I'm worried. I can't deploy Windoes 7 if it doesn't tell you when
your password has to be changed. There is only one domain and both the PC and
the domain controllers are in it. The only thing I can think of is taht it is
a 2003 domain and not 2008. could that be the problem?

Sorry if I don't answer promptly. I don't get replies any more. Is there a
MS discussion for problems with the dicussion groups?

Actually, we googled the problemand found a supposed workaround: go to the
    admin tools/ local security policy/Local policies/security options. 32 lines
down from the top is the setting for how soon Windows 7 will prompt to change
password. It is set to 5 days by default even though the help says 14 days.
We set our Win7 PCs to 14 days. Unfortunately, I just changed my password,
but we will see what happens with the other PC in about 2 months.
