My computer wont allow me to download anything. It always says that there is
another program open and still installing but the problem is I cant find nor
do I know what program it is talking about so I can stop it and allow myself
to download programs in which I need. How do I find the program and stop it?
so I can download the virus security program because I have a virus which has
also transfered to my other computer and now my laptop.

  2. Right-click on My Computer & select Properties: What Windows version is
displayed in the resulting General tab (e.g., Windows XP Professional
Service Pack 1; Windows Vista Ultimate Service Pack 2)?

What anti-virus application or security suite is installed NOW and is your
subscription current? What anti-spyware applications (other than Defender)?
    What third-party firewall (if any)?

Has a(another) Norton or McAfee application ever been installed on the
computer (e.g., a free-trial version that came preinstalled when you bought
    it)?

The virus is what's preventing the download...and you're probably better off
completely wiping the machine, reformatting and reinstalling windows and all
    programs.
