To Skype or not to Skype

I've just heard of this software and was about to install when I
stopped on the EULA. I decided to look into a bit more and after
reading a bunch of opinions am now just confused. Here's my problems:

    1. Many people noted that clause 9 in the EULA allows 3rd parties to
access the machine the software is installed on. Does this not refer
to people other than Skype connecting to the machine? Like the person
    I am calling.

    2. I read the General Privacy Policy and it seems like reasonable
stuff to my untrained eye. How can a policy like that be perverted as
many net users seemed to fear.

    3. Although Skype is written by the Kazaar team, unlike kazaar I can
see no additional unwanted software being installed with it. Does this
mean it's not there or just better disguised.

I really don't want to install spyware but can see concrete reason not
to install Skype. I'm I just being optimistic considering Kazaars
    track record?

I know a number of people who use Skype and none of them has reported
any problems with spyware, malware or any other similar problems. All
are as careful as possible where internet security is concerned.

It works fine with XP but other OSs are not supported. Skype has been
    used successfully with others though.
