    I may be confused but....
I am not trying to get a free hack!
Over a year ago I purchased several copies of Norton 2003
    and installed them.
Some of those are now expiring.
I purchased more copies of Norton 2003 ( currently
    available from several distributers).
I bought and paid for new cd!
It comes with a license and one years subscription just
like the all the cds I bought in the past.
What difference does it make what was on the pc before
    installing the NEW software?
If I buy a brand new cd I should get a full year just as
if there was no anti-virus software on the machine to
begin with. They work just fine on any machine that is
new or had some other brand of anti-virus on them.
The cds are full version, full one year cds!

Isn't this the issue for installing you're having right now? Myself or
George have nothing to do with Symantec Corp. We told you why its doing
what its doing. If you think you're an exception, go to Symantec.
