I was just wondering if there is a way to secure a
certain folder, without getting into multi-user set-up??
I would like to keep everything the way it is on my
computer, but would like to keep one folder confidential,
that would need a password to open. Is this possible??

    Hi Phil,

it is easily possible on following Microsoft operating systems: Windows
2000, WindowsXP (except Home Edition), Windows2003...

It is not so easy (must use 3rd party tools) on Windows 9x or ME operating
    systems.

  3. Not in the setup you describe. Set up multiple user accounts and then NTFS
security is your friend (presuming you're using NTFS). There's no password
protection in W2k - that's a Win9x thing (and not terribly secure at that).
