Msseces.exe Excessive CPU

Msseces.exe is part of MSSE. I'm noticing that on some machines it run
excessively, so much so that I'm taking it off those machines and replacing it
was Avast. Now I'm getting excess CPU on one of my own machines.

If I kill Windows Explorer (that is, the user interface) and restart it from
the Task Manager, it loads up everything fine, including msseces.exe and I
    have no further problem.

Does anybody here have a clue as to why msseces.exe is hogging CPU on some
machines and not on others? On other machines it's silent, and just
occasionally blips a little here and there.

Again, as is usual with me, I'm looking for REAL ANSWERS from people with
experience dealing with this, not speculation on what MIGHT be wrong.

    Thank you.

You've given me NO useful information. I think my post was very clear. It's
obvious that you've had no experience with this problem.

    Dave don't be a d!ck.

I gave you the URL for the Microsoft Security Essentials support forum the most appros
location to ask such a question.

And I've already checked the forum. Don't you think that I have brains enough
to (1) check with Microsoft and (2) Google the executable name first before
posting here? After exhausting those options I chose to ask here.

As to my posting a question there to get an answer, I've found that I get
better info on these newsgroups than in the MS forums. That's been my
    experience anyway.

What's most obvious is that someone posted something to provide help and
even though it's not what you wanted, you are rude and snide to them for
replying to your request for help.

It appears you have no experience with proper human interaction.

I made it clear that I wanted info from someone who had actually experienced
the problem. I made it VERY clear at the outset that this is what I wanted.

I can dig up a ton of URLs all day by myself. I didn't need that. I needed
an answer. I didn't get an answer, so I removed MSSE and installed Avast.

What you don't seem to understand is that I do this for a living and time
matters. I have to fix a situation and move on to another computer. I don't
have the luxury of hunting through hundreds of unrelated comments to find what
I need. Presently, I am about to deliver 1 computer and have 2 more to work
on by this evening. I typically work on 3 or 4 a day.

I'm happy to share any info I have (which I've done here and elsewhere) when I
have had experience with a situation and feel I can help them.

It appears that you don't know what you're talking about. I have been running
weekly social groups for 15 years and spent these past 2 years putting on a
weekly concert series. I deal with people all the time, including people with
big egos. No problems. But I don't take kindly to people who sit at their
    computers and post lame things.

I've been using Usenet for more than 20 years and would never expect to
get an exact answer, even with details provided, to any question -
    you're unreasonable.

If you count on usenet to keep you profitable then you're in a sinking
    boat.

I manage hundreds of computers each day, many servers, so what.
And your interaction in this thread shows that you don't interact well
with people unless you completely control the situation - reflect on
that and you should be able to improve yourself.

  12. I see that a lot. The only thing I can find is that it is scanning a large
file when it does that but then it hangs, probably a bug. I kill the service
and restart it and it works.
