    Hi,
I'm having a very serious problem. For the last 5-6 days
some pop-up windows are coming up time and again. I'd
tried to track where the problem is but was not able to
find. Though I was able to find that it is something
    related to Look2me virus.
I'd tried to clean my system with Spybot S&D but of no
use. I'd also find some instructions on
    http://www.pchell.com/support/look2me.shtml
but I'm not very sure whether I should go ahead with it or
    not?
Further I'd noticed that the CPU usage of my Server (OS =
Windows 2000 Server) goes to 100% in no time after logoin.
Most of the memory is consumed by winlogon.exe process.
Though I'd even tried to restart the system several time
but of no use. Rather in this even it was also crashed
    twice.
Please advice if anyone know anything as to how should I
get rid of this pop-up mess.
    Thanks,
    Ritin

Hi Ritin - Although I don't usually recommend using uninstallers provided by
the malware provider, you can try their uninstaller here, since that one can
be messy. It has been reported to work, however. See the direction here
    first BEFORE running the uninstaller:
    http://www.pchell.com/support/look2me.shtml

    http://www.look2me.com/cgi-bin/UnInstaller

Then follow up with CWShredder, AdAware, and SpyBotS&D again in that order,
with each being run from Safe mode. Reboot and re-run from Safe mode when
any fix is made until you get a clean "non-red" scan from each.

If you need directions and/or links to these programs, please post back in
    this same thread.

Just a followup - Re: "Then follow up with CWShredder, AdAware, and

before EACH use before you go into Safe mode.

    Hi Taff,
I'd tried to run my AV (Corporate client edition Norton AV
8.0) in safe mode but it didn't run. As far as running in
normal mode is concern, I do that every day. It was not
able to detect the look2me spyware.
    Thanks

    Hi Jim,
    Thanks for your reply.
I'd used the instructions listed on
    http://www.pchell.com/support/look2me.shtml. I'd used
VXfinder to remove the look2me. I'm monitoring my system
for the last 1-2 hours. I hope it is now fine.
    Thanks,
    Ritin
