Is VNC harmful

    I would like to control a computer remotely. What do you guys use?

    I have no opinion on remote control or VNC, but I find it strange how
    you formulated your subject line vs the question(s) you asked in the
    posting itself.

    No. Just don't use the default ports, pick two random ones (that
    are not in use or reserved). You'll need to fiddle with
    port-forwarding in your router, if you don't know what that is
    don't use VNC.
    On the LAN, Windows Remote Desktop.

    LogMeIn or Team Viewer (have both installed) for accessing them
    outside of my network (from the Internet). I really need to
    switch to Hamachi for a VPN solution instead but have not gotten
    around to it.
