how to disable point-to-point tunneling protocol (pptp)

    anybody how to disable point-to-point tunneling protocol (pptp), port 1723
    on a windows 2000 server?
    it's a system process but not sure how /what launched it

  2. In the RRAS Management console you can reduce the number of ports available
    for pptp to zero I believe. You can also modify your Remote Access Policy to
    not allow pptp - accept l2tp only for instance. Another method that might
    work is to use an ipsec filtering policy to block port 1723 TCP or modify
    the inbound/outbound filters on your network adapter in RRAS Management
    Console to do the same. --- Steve
