I have ATT wireless device to enable connection to the internet. I have IE8
installed, windows XP pro. My question is why is "microsoft.com" the only web
site that will load? Internet Explorer comes up with "cannot display the web
page" at all other sites, ie; yahoo, google, aol, etc. Why?????

  2. No idea. You at least gave your operating system... And you likely have
WIndows XP Professiona 32-bit, not 64-bit and you have IE8 - so you have at
    least SP2 installed...

    What does Firefox do?

    Any other browsers?

Does it only do this when you use the cellular connection (that is what it
sounds like you are using... maybe not?)

  3. Always state your full Windows version (e.g., WinXP SP3; WinXP 64-bit SP2;
    Vista SP1; Vista 64-bit SP2; Win7; Win7 64-bit) when posting in a forum or
newsgroup. Please do so in your next reply.

What anti-virus application or security suite is installed and is your
subscription current? What anti-spyware applications (other than Defender)?
What third-party firewall (if any)? Were any of these applications running
in the background when you installed IE8?

Has a(another) Norton or McAfee application ever been installed on the
computer (e.g., a free-trial version that came preinstalled when you bought
    it)?
