Help! Virus and startup programs

Discussion in 'Computer Security' started by =?Utf-8?B?Q2hyaXN0ZXlNYWNr?=, Dec 4, 2005.

  1. While trying to view a website this morning, a virus got onto my computer
(through scripts that gave me no chance to disallow them). Now, the virus
randomly brings up XXX websites on my desktop, shuts down and restarts my
computer, and/or opens up multiple instances of Internet Explorer, which are
not visible on my desktop, but are visible under "processes" in Windows Task
Manager and nearly make my computer freeze. If I end the tasks manually, the
pop back up after a while. The same applies to something affiliated with the
virus that shows up as "mm" on the "Processes" of Task Manager.
I don't know where this virus has placed itself on my computer, but I know
that it comes on at computer startup. For this reason, I would like to at
least try to remove it from the startup programs, but I don't know how to do
that. How do I change which programs automatically start at windows log-on?
If any one can answer this question or has any other suggestions to get rid
of this ugly virus, please let me know before it's too late for my computer.

  2. Hi .Are you sure you have all updates from Windows Update downloaded it.
If not ,you can download them from here:

You need an antivirus software and antispyware software.
Scannings should be in Safe Mode or use the command line scanner in Safe
    Mode with command prompt

Please, download that file written by me and perform all the detailed
    instructions carefully.

( Because of the fact the provided file is DOCument, you need Office Pack
    to open and view it.
If you don't have Microsoft Office ,Open Office or another ,you should
    Microsoft Word viewer (free)

    For XP and 2000

    Office Word viewer 2003

    For 95 , 98 and Me
    Office Word viewer 95 )
