Could W32/Swen possibly be the worst yet?

From my perspective, W32/Swen seems to be the biggest pain in the ass
of all worms to date, yet it has received little if any media
coverage. This could be perhaps because the corporate users haven't
    been hit?

I just hope that the FBI puts as much into finding the prick who let
this one loose as they did finding some previous shitheads.

Bart listed some blacklist servers you can add to Mailwasher that
really seem to be taking a bite out of it.

That's according to Trend and they are likely basing their figures on
infections reported by Trend users only. Trend doesn't have anywhere
near the U.S. market as say, McAfee and Symantec. I would take their
number with a grain of salt.

Not according to Symantec... they downgraded Sobig to a 2 and Swen is a
    3.

  7. Hi,
Well, if I look around among my friends I see that few (if any) of them
use newsgroups. As far as I know the main problem with Swen is that
newsgroup scanning and spreading. So if the entirely of users has
similar likes and dislikes then for most of them Swen might look like
    just another virus. :(

  9. No doubt for me it's the worst. For five days I've been receiving about 20
    emails/hour related to this worm/virus.

  10. Hi,
I can top you - when it started Thursday night at times I got three
Swens per MINUTE. Currently the average is about once per minute.

  11. I have been very happy using the free version of Agent from
forteinc.com. It allows me to put whatever I want in the "From:"
line, for news postings. It does not allow this for email, but that's
    okay.

Just remembered, Agent only does single news servers, but you can set
up multiple copies to check more than one server.

My other favorite thing about Agent is that almost all commands are a
single keystroke. You never have to use the mouse, in my experience,
    except maybe for copying text.

I don't use it for binaries or other attachments, maybe that's some
    advantage that NewsRover offers.
