Beta Version 1, Microsoft (Giant) Anti-spyware - success rate

  1. Good morning All!
Running XP Home edition, as released with HP's in May 2004
Also have Norton Antivirus 2004 & Spybot Search & Destroy

Microsoft Anti-spyware did much better than Spybot in all aspects. Found
and deleted more than spybot could, to the tune of 177 items.

Issues: MidAddle Adware - never truely leaves the machine, continues to try
to install whether on/off the web (after "cleared"). Norton does not remove
any of what Microsoft did, however after running the anti addware/spyware has
run for a few weeks returned Norton to "auto". The first run was followed by
another Microsoft run, then Norton again. Outcome is below (of what was not
    detected/dealt with entirely).

    Adware.Binet
    Adware.Adlogix
    Adware.WinFetch
    Adware.StatBlaster
    Adware.BrowserAid
    Adware.Ipinsight
    Adware.IEPlugin

Each of those "threat names" had many related files, collective total is 84
    "at risk" individual files.

If MSN wants to access the machine for further details, they can contact me.

    Regards!
