  6. Basically, your customer will be getting what they paid for. I would
think that your customer would want their mission critical data
protected by the best software they could afford. If providing good
solutions is not how you treat your customers, you will be looking for a
    new career soon.

I am informend by experts in this group (and other groups) that (some) free
av applications are just as good if not better than payware av scanners.
I would think that relying on av application on its own for the protection
of their critical data is wrong.
Free av can be added safely when providing solutions (plural).
    No comment (OT & subjective).

The free versions are usually stripped-down and for personal use only.

protection of their critical data is wrong.

I didn't say rely on AV alone. I would say that a multi-layered solution
    is best.
Also the layers must be from different vendors(not a security suite).
Not safe from a legal standpoint(if the software in question states
    "For Personal Use Only" ).

I will pay for support when the call is needed. Thanks. AVS is a bit
more reliable than the old free Norton Antivirus of my company.

  11. A license that does not allow "commercial use" should have a clause with
the word "commercial" or "business" in it.

Whenever it involves a computer outside the home, unless it also is used for
    business purposes.
Most free AV versions stipulate the "personal" use as a prerequisite for
free use, as opposed to "business" use, requiring a set fee or payment in
    general.
Does that make sense to you?

  13. Use in a business is not "Personal Use".
Seems you need to practice your English.

  16. What isn't personal use?
No, it's about legal formalities about english words. I didn't graduate
    from a law course.

    Personal = non-business = home use?

Mind to quote the relevant definitions from your country's laws to prove
    that?

  17. A license that does not allow "commercial use" should have a clause
yes. please quote the definition of "personal use" from the lawyers'
dictionaries. I did not study laws. SO let's start from scratch. :)

Personal inside home vs personal inside a company?
    I need a stronger proof. ;)

  19. No, it's about legal formalities about english words. I didn't graduate
So "personal use" in this license could mean a location called "home" by
default? Is this supported by legal formalities?

  20. This is from Antivir Personal's License:

    2.

The Licensee may only use the Software for strictly private purposes.
Institutes of education and public utilities are classed as commercial
or business premises. Similarly, the Software may not be used in a home
office for commercial or business purposes.

Note the explicit mention of "commercial and business premises".
