Two days ago I found a web page that purports to help you
sleep by playing pleasant sounds in the background. I kind
of liked it and today I decided to use it to play some
    natural sounds.

There is a landmine planted in a link on the page!

The corrupted url is : h***://www.soundsleepingDotcom.
h*** is http. I changed it so nobody would accidently go
there, altho I don't think there is any danger in going
there as long as you don't click on a link near the bottom.

I didn't notice the link two days ago, so maybe it is new.

The link is supposed to give you a license to a new flute
sound. I like the flute so I clicked it and all hell broke
loose. A flashing warning that I was about to be invaded by
malware and (this from my browser Chrome) a notice that
Chrome had stopped an application from executing.

There seemed no way to leave that page, so I clicked AltF4
and immediately I got a 'scan report' saying I had all kinds
of malware and offering me a button to click to clean up my
computer. I considered pulling the plug but I clicked AltF4
again and this time it took me back to the desktop.

My little Panda Cloud bear continued to report no security
problems. Panda Cloud is always running. Then I ran Spybot
SD and Malwarebyte. Both are negative so I didn't get
infected, but if I had let it clean my computer who knows
    what was coming.

Should this be reported to some authority, or posted
    elsewhere?

  3. Thanx for obfuscating a possibly malicious URL. It is the "right thing" to do.

Off the bat, in a couple of simple checks, I couldn't find anything malicious.
