The future of video codecs is interesting. I am mentioning this because it
will be exciting to see whether H264 a closed video codec is the future or
whether it becomes open source Ogg Theora or perhaps X264 an open source
video codec that is like H264. Perhaps it may even be Adobe Flash but
Adobe's Flash technology has continued to have security issues but it is a
very popular format on the web.

I came across that same site looking for a codec which would enable
WMP to play a 3gp video but they all had "publisher can't be
verified". Have you tried any of them?

In Firefox, WOT it got all solid green ratings but no I have not tried any
of the codecs myself. I was putting it out there for someone who had extra
time and possibly a test system to give them a shot to see how they compare
to the real world codecs.
