W32.Vote.K Description

W32.Vote.K@mm is a worm that overwrites and removes some files on an infected computer. The worm tries to send itself to all the contacts in Outlook Address Book and attempts to spread through the KaZaA file-sharing network.

Remove W32.Vote.K

To remove all W32.Vote.K files, you must kill all W32.Vote.K processes that are running in your computer's memory. To kill W32.Vote.K processes, press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to open the Windows Task Manager. Click on the "Processes" tab, search for W32.Vote.K, then right-click it and select "End Process" key.

You'll also need to remove W32.Vote.K registry keys. To remove W32.Vote.K registry keys, click on the Windows "Start" button and select "Run" to open Windows Registry Editor. A window will popup. Type "regedit" into the box, and click "OK". Search for the registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareW32.Vote.K." Right-click it and select "Delete."

Finally, you'll need to manually delete other malware files to clean your PC of  W32.Vote.K. These W32.Vote.K can be in the form of EXE, DLL, LSP, TOOLBAR, BROWSER HIJACK, and/or BROWSER PLUGIN. For example, W32.Vote.K might create a file like
%PROGRAM_FILES%W32.Vote.KW32.Vote.K.exe. Locate and remove these files.
