VirusBlaster Description

VirusBlaster is a fake anti-spyware program that is often downloaded and installed by a Trojan or through browser security holes. VirusBlaster launches on Windows startup and may generate large numbers of popup advertisements. VirusBlaster will also display notifications of imaginary security risks in its attempts to get the user to purchase the full version. VirusBlaster can be extremely difficult to remove manually, and will continue to try to recreate itself. It is believed that VirusBlaster is a derivative of SpywareQuake and SpyHeal.

Remove VirusBlaster

Stop the following VirusBlaster processes:
VirusBlaster.exe
vblast_setup[1].exe

Remove the following VirusBlaster registry keys:

Unregister the following VirusBlaster DLL files:

StartupEditor.dll

Delete the following VirusBlaster files:
VirusBlaster
VirusBlaster.exe
DesktopManager.dll
MessengerControl.dll
StartupEditor.dll
vblast_setup[1].exe
VirusBlaster v5.0.lnk
VirusBlaster v5.0 Un-Installer.lnk
VirusBlaster v5.0 Website.lnk
