VirProtect Description

VirProtect is another fake security program associated with SpyLocked group of rogue programs. VirProtect is reported to be advertised through Zlob.Trojan malware and has affiliate connections with virusray.com website, a notoriously known rogue program released by the same creators. Once installed, VirProtect will generate false notifications in its attempts to goad you into purchasing the full version of this rogue. Once pressed on the notification, you will be automatically transferred to VirProtect.com website. Due to such deceptive advertising, VirProtect shouldn’t be trusted and we recommend its immediate removal.

Remove VirProtect

To remove all VirProtect files, you must kill all VirProtect processes that are running in your computer's memory. To kill VirProtect processes, press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to open the Windows Task Manager. Click on the "Processes" tab, search for VirProtect, then right-click it and select "End Process" key.

You'll also need to remove VirProtect registry keys. To remove VirProtect registry keys, click on the Windows "Start" button and select "Run" to open Windows Registry Editor. A window will popup. Type "regedit" into the box, and click "OK". Search for the registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareVirProtect." Right-click it and select "Delete."

Finally, you'll need to manually delete other malware files to clean your PC of  VirProtect. These VirProtect can be in the form of EXE, DLL, LSP, TOOLBAR, BROWSER HIJACK, and/or BROWSER PLUGIN. For example, VirProtect might create a file like
%PROGRAM_FILES%VirProtectVirProtect.exe. Locate and remove these files.
