Scold Description
Worm Scold is a simple Internet spyware, which spreads by e-mail in messages with infected attachments. It installs itself to the computer after the user opens an attachment. It shows a picture to hide the installation procedure. The worm uses Microsoft Outlook mail application to send itself to addresses found in the Address Book. It doesn't remove or infect any files.
Remove Scold
To remove all Scold files, you must kill all Scold processes that are running in your computer's memory. To kill Scold processes, press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to open the Windows Task Manager. Click on the "Processes" tab, search for Scold, then right-click it and select "End Process" key.
You'll also need to remove Scold registry keys. To remove Scold registry keys, click on the Windows "Start" button and select "Run" to open Windows Registry Editor. A window will popup. Type "regedit" into the box, and click "OK". Search for the registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareScold." Right-click it and select "Delete."
Finally, you'll need to manually delete other malware files to clean your PC of Scold. These Scold can be in the form of EXE, DLL, LSP, TOOLBAR, BROWSER HIJACK, and/or BROWSER PLUGIN. For example, Scold might create a file like
%PROGRAM_FILES%ScoldScold.exe. Locate and remove these files.
