MagicControl Description

MagicControl memory-resident downloader Trojan carries a payload that terminates certain processes, some firewalls and anti-virus products. Works on Windows 95, 98, NT, ME, 2000 and XP computers
It has been reported than MagicControl installs Instant Access Dialer.

Remove MagicControl

Stop the following MagicControl processes:
WINCOMP.EXE
WINTRIM.EXE
NAVPMC.EXE
winmgts.exe


Remove the following MagicControl registry keys:
Browsetothekey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionRun
deletethevaluescpntmgc
MC
mslagent.
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionRun


Delete the following MagicControl files:
WINCOMP.EXE
WINTRIM.EXE
NAVPMC.EXE
winmgts.exe
