Remove FakeSurf


FakeSurf Description

The RAT was created in February 2005. This application was designed for illegal controlling of other people's PCs. The hacker infects the victim's machine via the e-mail or File and Print Sharing with a "server" application. He can later access the infected machine via a "client". The functions of a RAT may vary, depending on the needs of the hacker. Some may just do nasty things, while the user is working. Other can steal vital information and remove files. The RAT was created in February 2005.

Remove FakeSurf


To remove all FakeSurf files, you must kill all FakeSurf processes that are running in your computer's memory. To kill FakeSurf processes, press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to open the Windows Task Manager. Click on the "Processes" tab, search for FakeSurf, then right-click it and select "End Process" key.

You'll also need to remove FakeSurf registry keys. To remove FakeSurf registry keys, click on the Windows "Start" button and select "Run" to open Windows Registry Editor. A window will popup. Type "regedit" into the box, and click "OK". Search for the registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareFakeSurf." Right-click it and select "Delete."

Finally, you'll need to manually delete other malware files to clean your PC of  FakeSurf. These FakeSurf can be in the form of EXE, DLL, LSP, TOOLBAR, BROWSER HIJACK, and/or BROWSER PLUGIN. For example, FakeSurf might create a file like
%PROGRAM_FILES%FakeSurfFakeSurf.exe. Locate and remove these files.
