Email-Worm.Tanatos.a Description

Email-Worm.Tanatos.a is a mass-mailing worm virus that uses its own SMTP engine to spread itself. Email-Worm.Tanatos.a can spread through file-sharing networks, such as KaZaA and IRC, as well as email, newsgroups. Once executed, Email-Worm.Tanatos.a attempts to kill anti-virus and personal firewall programs running on a machine. Once it gets onto your machine, Email-Worm.Tanatos.a will send itself as an email attachment to all addresses that it can find and collect from your Outlook Address Book. Email-Worm.Tanatos.a is also known as Email-Worm.Bugbear.

Remove Email-Worm.Tanatos.a

To remove all Email-Worm.Tanatos.a files, you must kill all Email-Worm.Tanatos.a processes that are running in your computer's memory. To kill Email-Worm.Tanatos.a processes, press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to open the Windows Task Manager. Click on the "Processes" tab, search for Email-Worm.Tanatos.a, then right-click it and select "End Process" key.

You'll also need to remove Email-Worm.Tanatos.a registry keys. To remove Email-Worm.Tanatos.a registry keys, click on the Windows "Start" button and select "Run" to open Windows Registry Editor. A window will popup. Type "regedit" into the box, and click "OK". Search for the registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareEmail-Worm.Tanatos.a." Right-click it and select "Delete."
