Back Orifice Description

A very dangerous Remote Administration Tool, which allows the intruder to do with your PC everything he wants and even more. This tool has a massive amount of dangerous and nasty abilities and leaves the victim completely unprotected and disorientated. It was created by a group which call themselves "The Cult of the Dead Cow". It was written in C++ applicationming language. Variants appeared from July 1995 to July 2004. Some versions include such functions as "hijacker", "password capture", "keylogger" etc.

Remove Back Orifice

To remove all Back Orifice files, you must kill all Back Orifice processes that are running in your computer's memory. To kill Back Orifice processes, press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to open the Windows Task Manager. Click on the "Processes" tab, search for Back Orifice, then right-click it and select "End Process" key.

You'll also need to remove Back Orifice registry keys. To remove Back Orifice registry keys, click on the Windows "Start" button and select "Run" to open Windows Registry Editor. A window will popup. Type "regedit" into the box, and click "OK". Search for the registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareBack Orifice." Right-click it and select "Delete."

Finally, you'll need to manually delete other malware files to clean your PC of  Back Orifice. These Back Orifice can be in the form of EXE, DLL, LSP, TOOLBAR, BROWSER HIJACK, and/or BROWSER PLUGIN. For example, Back Orifice might create a file like
%PROGRAM_FILES%Back OrificeBack Orifice.exe. Locate and remove these files.
